Deadline reports Akiva Goldsman has been hired to develop “a new Universe at Legendary Television” based on the TV series’ of Irwin Allen, beginning with Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Land of the Giants and The Time Tunnel.

Bernthal is also writing the script with his We Own This City director Reinaldo Marcus Green, who will helm this standalone special. “It’s like a shotgun blast of a story, but also has all the pathos and emotion that you want out of a Frank Castle story,” Brad Winderbaum, the head of Marvel Television, tells EW. “It’s so exciting.”

Marvel has confirmed the Punisher's future in the MCU after Daredevil: Born Again. The character will be getting a Werewolf By Night style special, according to Entertainment Weekly. Jon Bernthal will return as Frank Castle and co-write the special with We Own This City director Reinaldo Marcus Green.
