Bitterly cold temperatures from Amarillo to Dallas will set the stage for what promises to be a significant winter storm in North Texas.

A winter storm is poised to pummel Texas and the US South later this week, putting the region at risk of blackouts and travel mayhem.

Winter weather is in the forecast this week and after the Feb. 2021 storm that left millions of Texans in the dark, that means concerns about the power grid.
