Sawyer is a senior from Pickerington, Ohio, and the local product made a massive play with everything on the line. A Texas touchdown would've tied the game with just minutes left, but Sawyer's scoop-and-score extended the lead and sent Buckeyes Nation into a frenzy.

It may go down as the biggest defensive play in modern Ohio State school history. I can’t vouch for anything that happened in, say, 1904, but senior defensive end Jack Sawyer forcing a fumble on a strip sack of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers – his roommate when Ewers played one season for the Buckeyes – and returning it 83 yards for a touchdown to give OSU a 28-14 lead with 2:13 remaining is one that anyone who saw it will tell their young kids and grandkids about.
