With the international community distracted by the new Middle East conflict between Israel and Iran, ongoing bloodshed in Gaza is drawing less attention.

After Israel's recent attacks on Iran, dozens of Winnipeggers lined up on Portage Avenue to protest the military strikes and the ongoing war and humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

At least 51 people were killed and more than 200 others injured by Israeli fire as they waited for aid trucks to arrive in Khan Younis in southern Gaza early Tuesday morning, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

Health officials say at least eight Palestinians were killed and dozens more were wounded in the latest shooting near Israeli- and U.S.-supported food distribution points in Gaza.

Khan Younis: At least 45 Palestinians were killed in the Gaza Strip while waiting for UN and commercial trucks to enter the territory with desperately needed food, according to Gaza's Health Ministry and a local hospital. The circumstances of the killings were not immediately clear.
