After the premiere of the second season of Netflix’s “Squid Game,” viewers are criticizing the show’s decision to cast a straight cisgender male actor as a trans character Hyun-ju.

Warning – major spoilers ahead for Squid Game season two. Choi Seung Hyun, also known by his stage name T. O. P, is receiving a groundswell of support from Squid Game fans in the wake of criticism over his role as Thanos in the show's latest season.

There are cliffhangers, and then there’s “Squid Game” Season 2, which left viewers in the middle of the games, in the middle of a rebellion, and the middle of Gi-hun’s (Lee Jung-jae) fresh agony after watching a friend die in front of him.

But we will not have to wait another three years for season 3, thankfully, as both Netflix and creator Hwang Dong-hyuk have ensured that won’t happen by having no production breaks between seasons. The result is a season 3 of Squid Game that is much, much closer than we think.
