Oregon family’s mysterious disappearance nearly 70 years ago may soon have answers as divers pull station wagon wreckage from river
The Martin family, who lived in Portland, disappeared after driving to the Columbia River Gorge that December, in search of Christmas greenery to decorate their home, reported The Oregonian.
The chassis and engine of the car were recovered from the Columbia River, but the cabin of the car remains in the river.
The Hood River County Sheriff's Office said Friday that the vehicle is in 40 to 50 feet of water and was mostly buried in debris.
Barbara and Ken Martin and their three daughters left their Oregon home in their Ford Station Wagon in 1958. However, they vanished off the face of the Earth.
