Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova says she plans to retire in a few months. The announcement on social media comes a day after Kvitova was granted a wild card for Wimbledon.

Double Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova has announced that she will retire from tennis at the end of this summer. The Czech player won the ladies' singles titles in 2011 and 2014 and also reached the final of the Australian Open in 2019.

Throughout her nearly two-decade professional tennis career, Kvitová has won two Wimbledon Championships, in 2011 and 2014, and six Billie Jean King Cup trophies, which is the world’s largest annual international women’s tennis team competition. Achieving this feat ranked Kvitová as No. 2 in the world.
