Russia continued its nightly bombardment of Ukrainian cities overnight into Tuesday, after President Donald Trump said the U.S. would send military equipment to Kyiv.

Russia appeared to brush aside President Donald Trump’s threat to impose tariffs against Moscow and its trading partners if its war with Ukraine does not end in 50 days, but there are signs of growing concern among some factions of the nation’s elite that an opportunity may have been missed.

Donald Trump asked Volodymyr Zelenskiy whether Ukraine could strike Moscow, an inquiry that the White House says was merely a question but one that came hours after he voiced frustration at Russian President Vladimir Putin’s refusal to accept a ceasefire in the war.
