Hundreds gathered Friday at a memorial service in Seattle to mourn Yim and call for better protections for bus drivers.

King County Metro, community members and transit agencies will gather Jan. 10 to remember Shawn Yim, a bus driver tragically killed in December while on duty.

Metro Transit said it has more than doubled the number of transit security officers in recent years –- from 80 to more than 170.
