The California Supreme Court ruled this week that a convicted child sex offender can live near a home school in Stanislaus County.

Anthony Gardiner attacked John Coxon, 76, at his home address in Park Road, Stonehouse, in January 2022. Mr Coxon, who had several convictions for child sexual offences and served a year in prison in 2016, suffered a head injury in the attack and remained in hospital until his death two months later.

The convicted sex offender allegedly is living in Brooklyn, but his last registered address is in Mariners Harbor.

A lorry driver has been jailed for two years after admitting making and distributing indecent images of children. Hedley Heddison, 54, of Eight Row, Eagle Moor near Lincoln, was caught after police became aware of sexualised conversations he had shared with another man on WhatsApp.
