CLEVELAND, Ohio — Milwaukee’s offense was held scoreless through its first two games this week, but the Brew Crew struck for seven late runs Wednesday against the Guardians’ bullpen and held on to hand Cleveland a 9-5 loss at Progressive Field.

Sal Frelick circled the bases after his tying home run cleared the center-field wall Wednesday afternoon and chucked his helmet in the dugout while letting out a yell. It wasn’t out of anger. It was an emotional release meant to fire up the ballclub.
Allen walked one and struck out six before Matt Festa, Hunter Gaddis and Emmanuel Clase completed the shutout. Clase got his ninth save.
