A number of weather alerts were issued for portions of the Chicago area on Thursday evening as thunderstorms trekked across the region.
The flood watch is in effect until 7 a.m. Friday for Cook County, the collar counties and the majority of northern Illinois, according to the National Weather Service.
Thursday night’s Game 3 between the Milwaukee Milkmen and Chicago Dogs was suspended in the bottom of the third inning with the bases loaded for the Dogs and two outs. The score was tied 1-1.
The Chicago area could be in for multiple rounds of severe weather in coming days, with heavy rain, gusty winds and even tornadoes possible.
Snow seasons in Chicago are tracked from July through the following June. The area normally can expect 38.4 inches.
