More than $50 billion US will be required to rebuild Gaza after Israel's 15-month campaign against Hamas levelled it, according to a joint report released Tuesday by the United Nations, the European Union and the World Bank.
During a meeting with European Union ambassadors in Israel on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar warned that Jerusalem would resume military actions in Gaza if Hamas does not release the hostages.
"A decision by Hamas not to release the hostages is essentially a decision to return to war," the foreign minister told visiting European Union ambassadors.
