Ohio State football secured a major transfer portal win on Monday. And the Buckeyes stayed within the Big 10 to land the new addition.

There has certainly been more early activity in the transfer portal for Ohio State than we’ve seen in year’s past, especially considering the Buckeyes are in the throws of a College Football Playoff national championship chase.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have seen quite a few players enter the transfer portal over the last few weeks. Once again, on Sunday, Ohio State saw another player make his decision to explore other options.

George Fitzpatrick became the third offensive lineman to enter the transfer portal, doing so just days after the Buckeyes’ win over Oregon in the Rose Bowl. He joins Zen Michalski (Indiana) and Miles Walker (Boise State), who’ve already found new homes.

Ohio State is losing defensive ends J.T. Tuimoloau and Jack Sawyer, but Kenyatta Jackson and Caden Curry seem to be the heir apparents to start, with Idaho State transfer Logan George also in the mix. Ohio State LB Mitchell Melton is entering the transfer portal, per a source

While the Ohio State Buckeyes are in pursuit of a National Championship, the program still remains active in the transfer portal. Despite still being in season, the Buckeyes continue to prove their willingness to utilize the portal to prepare for the future.
