Alex Padilla (D-CA) recounted the incident last week when he was ejected from Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem’s press conference, with members of her detail forcing him to the ground and handcuffing him.

Video footage tells a different tale. It showed Padilla interrupting Noem by shouting and then resisting security’s efforts to bring him outside.

“She is alert and recovering,” said the statement from department spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin, who said the hospital treatment was out of an “abundance of caution.”
