Micah Richards said that Arsenal ’s move for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke left him scratching his head as he questioned where the player would fit into Mikel Arteta ’s squad.

It’s rumoured a fee in the region of £50m could be enough to prise Madueke away from Stamford Bridge, with Arsenal having reportedly agreed personal terms already. While some might be struggling to see the logic in Chelsea letting him go, there is a chance his departure fixes an unwanted problem for Enzo Maresca.

As noted by The Times, Chelsea cannot register new players for next season’s Champions League squad unless they balance out the squad costs from “List A”, which is the last squad registered with UEFA for the second half of the Conference League campaign. The rule means any spending on new players must be balanced out by income from sales.
