A thunderstorm rocked Times Square, drenching the thousands of people — and performers like The Jonas Brothers – who are waiting to ring in 2025

Rain was forecast to fall in the New York City metro area from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., with moderate to occasionally heavy rain falling for a two to four hour period in that window, the National Weather Service’s New York office said. Thunder was predicted for the same area from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., the office said.

"There is a chance of some very heavy rain between 10 and 11 p.m. that will be potentially disruptive for anyone outside trying to see the ball drop."

Street closures will start at 43rd Street and Broadway and spread uptown as pens fill with attendees. No public bathrooms are provided.
