There was no bomb or person with a gun at the school. Police said there were reports of a similar incident at a second school Wednesday.

Chicago police responded to Jones College Preparatory High School on Wednesday after the school received an email containing language that resembled a potential safety threat.

Chicago police said they responded to two false bomb threats at schools Wednesday, a practice known as swatting, creating traffic backups and confusion. The first call to police at 2:05 p.m.

A bomb threat and reports of a person with a gun brought SWAT officers to Jones College Prep. Then officers were called to John Hancock College Prep Both threats were deemed not credible.
