Heavy rains are unleashing a “catastrophic” and deadly flood of Texas’ Guadalupe River on Friday. People have died in Kerr County in Hill Country and roads are washed out in Kerrville in Hill Country, authorities said.

Texas Hill Country was beset by death and disaster Friday as at least six people were killed and about 20 girls attending a summer camp were reported missing after months worth of heavy rain fell in a matter of hours.

The National Water Center warned several rivers would face serious flooding by Friday afternoon, including the Colorado River near San Saba, Texas; the Guadalupe River near Comfort, Texas; the Guadalupe River near Kerrville, Texas; and the Guadalupe River near Hunt, Texas.
