Knoxville is filling the shoes once occupied by Joe Rogan, who hosted the original Fear Factor from 2001 to 2006. The show was revived by MTV in 2017 for two seasons and emceed by Ludacris.

As far as Fear Factor hosts go, Knoxville makes a lot of sense. Joe Rogan infamously hosted the show during its initial NBC run, but while his podcast has turned society into a fear factory producing vaccine skepticism and Holocaust denial,

Fear Factor was an iconic competition show back in the early aughts, forcing contestants to face their fears in pursuit of a grand cash prize. Facing those fears wasn't for the faint of heart, with challenges ranging from physically challenging to downright disgusting.
