The Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars meet in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final in the Stanley Cup Playoffs Thursday at American Airlines Center.

For the second year in a row, the Philadelphia Flyers will have two of their former goalies representing them in the Stanley Cup Final, with one making a surprisingly large contribution in the NHL playoffs relative to his role with the team.

The Dallas Stars face elimination tonight as they take on Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals, live from Dallas, Texas.

Calvin Pickard, a career backup (when not playing in the minors) has more minutes in net than Edmonton’s No. 1 goaltender (Stuart Skinner). The gap could’ve been larger, but Pickard’s injury guaranteed recent starts for Skinner.

EDMONTON -- Zach Hyman is likely out for the rest of the Stanley Cup Playoffs with an upper-body injury sustained in the Edmonton Oilers' 4-1 win against the Dallas Stars in Game 4 of the Western Conference Final at Rogers Place on Tuesday, coach Kris Knoblauch said. The forward will have surgery Wednesday.
