Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter will be honored Thursday with the pageantry of a funeral in the nation’s capital and second service in his tiny Georgia hometown that launched a Depression-era farm boy to the world stage.

The public will be able to pay their respects to the 39th president at the U.S. Capitol until his state funeral Thursday morning.

Vice President Harris, Congressional members, and guests gathered in the Capitol Rotunda on Tuesday as former president Carter's funeral proceedings continued.
