The US Open at Oakmont Country Club is back after a lengthy rain delay, with Sam Burns clinging to the lead. Burns entered the day with a one-shot advantage over fellow American JJ Spaun and the Australian Scott.
It was a true Father’s Day triumph for J.J. Spaun, who revealed he was making a 3 a.m. CVS run on Sunday morning tending to his daughter’s stomach bug — just hours before winning the US Open.
Sam Burns and Adam Scott started the last round of the U.S. Open in the final group, one shot separating them in first and second place.

As he stood on the ninth tee box in the pouring rain, it looked for all the world like J.J. Spaun had just played his way out of contention for the 125th US Open championship.
Serving as U.S. Open host for the 10th time, Oakmont has shown its teeth to the field as only four players entered Round 4 with under-par scores. That number is down to one with the first nine having been completed Sunday.
